Laguna 69 (1 day)

Distance: 12 km

Altitude: 3900m to 4600m Rating: moderate

This is the most popular of the one day hikes around Huaraz with some of the most impressive scenery to be found in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range. Lake 69 with its waterfall is one of the most famously beautiful turquoise glacial lakes in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range. During the tour, you will also see the Llanganuco lakes, and have excellent views of the mountains Chacraraju (6112m), Pisco (5752m) and Yanapacha (5460m). This hike is also a good choice for those who wish to acclimatize to the altitude before the Santa Cruz trek.
