Day 1: Travel from Huaraz to the trailhead, followed by a 3-4 hour hike (8 km) to the Carhuacocha campsite (4,100m).
Day 2: Trek to the Siula Lakes viewpoint (4,800m), then continue for 15 km to the Huayhuash campsite (4,300m).
Day 3: Ascend the Portachuelo Pass (5,000m), optional visit to the Mirador Lakes, then hike 12 km to camp at Guñoc (4,400m). Guñoc is famous for its hot springs, which are among the warmest and most beautiful in Peru, offering a perfect way to relax and rejuvenate after a challenging day.
Day 4: Cross Cuyoc Pass (5,000m), with an optional ascent to San Antonio Pass (5,187m) for stunning panoramic views, followed by a 14 km descent to Elefante campsite (4,450m).
Day 5: Hike 8-9 km to Huayllapa village (3,600m), followed by a 6-7 hour drive back to Huaraz (or Lima), arriving in the evening.
