Overview:

Ishinca is a moderately easy mountain, with a straightforward moraine approach. There are two different routes on the mountain, which means the ascent and descent can be done via different routes. After summitting Ishinca it may be possible to climb Tocllaraju, which is one of the easier of the 6 thousand metre mountains in this region.

DAY 01: HUARAZ – PASHPA – BASE CAMP ISHINCA

On the first day you will take a private transfer from Huaraz to the trailhead at Pashpa (3,670m). Here you will meet the donkey drivers and then begin the hike along the Ishinca Valley. The base camp of Ishinca (4,300m) will be reached after around 5 hours of walking. In the afternoon we will check our climbing equipment for the next day.

DAY 02: BASE CAMP – SUMMIT ISHINCA – BASE CAMP

We will wake up very early and have breakfast around 03:00 am, after that we will start hiking at 03:30 am to the glacier, arriving to the glacier after 2 hours half hike. The climb from the glacier to the summit will take around 3 hours. There we will enjoy the nice view and have the opportunity to take pictures. Then we will start to descend for about 2 hours to the Moraine camp and continue to the Base Camp, arriving around 16:30 pm. We will stay overnight in the Base Camp at 4300m.

DAY 03: BASE CAMP – PASHPA – HUARAZ

After a later breakfast (around 8am) we will continue downhill towards Pashpa. After walking for around three hours you will meet your private transfer to take you back to Huaraz. We will provide lunch on the way and you should arrive back in Huaraz around 2pm.
